A Successful Candidate Will:
- Build and maintain client relationships; Respond to client questions and concerns as well as provide education on how to provide the best at home care for our furry family members
- Diagnose, treat and manage a variety of small animal cases
- Perform routine exams, dental, and surgical procedures
- Administer anesthetics and monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the assistance of the technical team
- Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
- Guide, utilize, and help continue the training of exceptional support staff
- Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
- Develop advanced dental procedure skills
- Follow-up with clients regarding medical progress
- Complete forms, reports, logs, and patient records

What You Will Bring to Our Team:
- Professional licensure in good standing with the Maryland State Veterinary Board
- 2+ years of clinical experience preferred

Exciting Opportunity for Veterinary Technician!

Breton Veterinary Hospital is searching for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. Whether you are a seasoned veterinary technician or recently graduated, we want to hear from you!
You should believe in treating each pet parent like family and in caring for pets as though they are your own. The ideal applicant will be a driven, team-oriented, personable, and highly professional individual who wishes to build strong, long-term relationships with clients and team members.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Have the knowledge of phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, triage patients, perform diagnostics and treatments, understand how to draw blood, administer various medications and IVs.
- Be willing and able to provide nursing care by monitoring hospitalized patients and notifying Veterinarians of any serious conditions that arise.
- Be willing to learn and perform CPR
- Assist the veterinarians before, during, and after surgeries.
In addition to supporting clients and their families, the ideal candidate will also support the hospital team and assist them in expanding their knowledge and continuing to grow their medical and technical skills in the veterinary field.
What You Will Bring to Our Team:
- Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Valid Veterinary Technician License is preferred!
- 2+ years of experience in an LVT role, preferred
- Ability to become proficient in the use of the practice management software

- Ability to operate office technology such as computers, fax machines, and copiers
- Ability to stay calm when handling a nervous and/or defensive animal

Veterinary Assistant

A busy and successful Veterinary Practice in Leonardtown is in search of an enthusiastic and energetic
Veterinary Assistant to join the team. If you have the following qualifications apply today!
Primary Responsibilities
Training is available for candidates who possess exemplary communication skills and are passionate about
learning to help care for pets!
Veterinary Assistants play a vital role in supporting the Veterinarians and Technicians who provide excellent
patient care. After your training is complete, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Using best practices to safely restrain pets during exams and treatment.
- Making sure the pets staying in the kennels have clean and comfortable accommodations.
- Preparing mediations with the highest accuracy.
- Updating patient records and notes regarding care in their electronic file.
- Assisting with curbside service by escorting pets into and out of the practice.
- Communicating with clients about their pet’s visit and care
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience providing top-notch customer service both in person and over the phone is strongly preferred
- Truly superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to meet the needs of the person you are communicating with
- The ability to effectively prioritize and meet multiple requests at one time.
- Must be tech savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly.

Hours & Availability
This is a full time opening! Your availability should align with our hours of operation as follows:
- Mon & Tue: 7:30am – 6:00pm
- Wed: 8:00am – 2:00pm
- Thu & Fri: 7:30am – 6:00pm
- Sat: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Compensation & Benefits
Our amazing team members can expect competitive pay and great benefits! The starting range for this position
is $17 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience.

Candidates must have great communication skills, be focused on customer service, and enjoy a fast paced environment. Knowledge of veterinary medicine would be helpful, but not required.
Summary: A veterinary receptionist must be able to provide excellent customer care in accordance with hospital policy and promote gold standard medical care. While under the supervision of the practice manager, a veterinary receptionist must be able to effectively and accurately perform the following duties that include but are not limited to.
